NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams Review

I don’t quite remember what it was that first made me buy one of these lip creams; most likely a make up tutorial on YouTube but who/whatever it was – thank you very much!! I purchased these from Boots and they only cost £5.50 which I personally think is crazy for the quality, especially when compared to the price of a high-end lipstick.

These creams are exactly what they say on the tube; soft, matte and creamy. They are applied with a wand; it’s a lightweight creamy mousse like texture which then dries matte after about 5 minutes without drying out your lips. The scent is very sweet and when I convinced my mum to try one out for herself she described it as ‘tasting like cake’. I did advise her she wasn’t meant to eat it!

Most beauty lovers will probably at least already have one of these in their make up bag as they are a great go to product when out & about and you’re wanting an effective look with little effort.

I actually own quite a few of these now as I treated myself to the NYX advent calendar in December which topped up my collection nicely. However, this post is just on the original ones I purchased.

Out of the three, Cannes is my favourite. It’s a pinkish nude and really makes the lips stand out without drawing too much attention to them. I am a big nude fan and this one just ticks all the boxes for me. Milan is a strong pink which is great for creating a striking lip which you want to draw attention to. Stockholm has to be my least favourite as it is quite close to my natural lip colour and doesn’t really do much for me personally. All the colours are really well pigmented and there is a HUGE range of colours to choose from; I can be certain there is a colour for everyone.

Do you own any NYX soft matte lip creams? Which colour is your favourite?
