OK So I think this is up there with one of my favourite weeks of recipes in my Gousto box. Two I’ve had before and two were completely new to me and I’ve made some of these recipes since because they are just so damn good!
So this week I have ordered the following four recipes:
- Cheesy Pepperoni Pasta Bake
- Chicken Tikka Masala With Basmati Rice
- Sticky Chicken With Soy, Sesame & Chilli
- Cheesy Cod & Spinach Gratin With Crispy Potatoes
So my first recipe of the week was the Chicken Tikka Masala With Basmati Rice. I always find when you cook curry’s at home it’s never quite possible to achieve the taste of one from an authentic Indian however this was pretty spot on! The picture doesn’t really do it justice and it looks a little plain as CANNOT stand Coriander which is what this would have been seasoned with but trust me – it was delicious!
Next up was was the Cheesy Pepperoni Pasta Bake and oh my word, I’m still dreaming about it now. It’s basically a pizza on pasta instead of a dough base. If you like cheese and a pepperoni pizza then my gosh, you have to make this. Its very easy to make, just a case of cooking some pasta and some sauce, throwing it all together in a pan, top with cheese and pepperoni and whack it in the oven.
The third recipe of this week was the Sticky Chicken With Soy, Sesame & Chilli. I wasn’t actually around for the evening of this so my boyfriend cooked it but I did have the leftovers for my lunch the next day and can confirm it’s a good one for reheating! I love anything with soy, honey and spice so topped with some sesame seeds this is just the perfect meal for me.
Last but not least for this week was the Cheesy Cod & Spinach Gratin With Crispy Potatoes which is a recipe which we have had before and loved. I’m not the biggest seafood fan so it’s a great way to ease myself into fish. It’s SO simple to make, it’s basically put it all together in a dish and whack it in the oven. Little mess, little effort but GREAT taste. Especially the potatoes, something so simple just tastes so good and I never even realised before.
I honestly wouldn’t change a thing about this weeks recipe’s and will definitely be making these again off my own back as and when. I’ve not ordered a box for a while now as I’m not at home for many weeks and going on holiday very shortly but keep your eyes peeled for my post about my holiday in Santorini!
